FeNO stands for fractional exhaled nitric oxide. A feNO test measures this nitric oxide. When your airways are inflammed as is the case with asthma, higher levels of nitric oxide are released and measured in exhaled air.
A FeNO test is a quick and simple test using a hand held device. The patient, a child or adult can use the device very easily and the device indicates if you are blowing too hard or too little so the perfect sample is recorded.
